Hawaii, nature, culture and wellness. One the the larger retreat centers in Hawaii, Kalani has many options for individuals, couples and large groups.

We are located in a secluded tropical forest on the Big Island of Hawaii
bordered by dramatic lava cliffs providing amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.

Accommodations

Kalani offers a range of accommodation to suit every budget. The accommodations are simple and comfortable, with no televisions or phones (the perfect way to get away from it all).

Our accommodations total 47 rooms offering 83 beds and 7 futons. Beds are configured as follows: 56 twins (many can be doubled to make a king size bed), 11 doubles, 11 queen and 5 king size beds. We also have 1 double and 6 queen futons that can be made into beds. Hence, Kalani has a full indoor lodging capacity of 124 people, not including camping (which can accommodate 20 double tents).

Tree House
King bed, private bath, fan, mini fridge, ocean and horse pasture vistas. Approx. 500 sq. ft. each. There are four treehouse units available.




 

Cottage
Double bed and queen futon, private bath, fan, mini fridge, jungle vista. Approx. 250 sq. ft. Four cottages with two units each are available.




 

Lodge Room
Twin, double, or king beds, shared or private bath, fan, garden vista. Room is approx. 200 sq. ft. Includes access to adjoining studio with shared kitchen.

Lodges 3 & 4 contain eight bedrooms per building, four on each floor. Each lodge houses between 16 and 18 people, depending on sleeping arrangements.

Lodge 1 has recently been renovated. It contains 10 bedrooms each with private bath. It also features garden lanais (verandas), hammocks, and native ohia floors. Note: lodge 1 has a shared studio (but no kitchen).

 

Campsite
Includes hot showers and optional wood platforms for tents.
 

 

Meeting Areas

Kalani offers a variety of meeting areas where you can conduct your workshop.

Our three split level lodges or Hales (pronounced Ha'-lay, Hawaiian for "house" or "lodge") each have an upstairs screened meeting space with a 1,000 sq. ft. suspended hardwood floor. These studios seat up to 40 people for lectures, or accommodate approximately 20 people for movement practice.

The downstairs has a shared kitchen (see 360º view) to accomodate groups during breaks


 

The Guest House (a one-story lodge) contains a 700 sq. ft. common area (including kitchen) suitable for intimate, small group meetings.

The Rainbow Room offers a total of 3,200 sq. ft., with a 2,100 sq. ft. suspended wood floor with sound system, restrooms, showers and water fountain. Perfect for large group activities like yoga, dance or music performance.

Our new Blue Moon Room is now available. It offers 6,600 sq. ft. with a 5,000 sq. ft. suspended wood floor.

 

Our meadow is available for outdoor activities such as movement.
 

Let us know in advance which meeting space you will require during your stay. Due to the presence of several groups at once, we recommend you book your space (included in group rates) as early as possible.

 

Equipment and Support
In order to accommodate you during your workshop, we put a large variety of items at your disposal, at no additional cost.

You will receive a list of these items eight weeks prior to your arrival. Items can include:

Pools
Our low-chlorine, 25 meter Olympic pool is perfect for relaxation or exercise. Little ones enjoy our children's splash pool.

The adjacent heated warm pool is available for aquatic bodywork or a Biodanza class.
 

Jacuzzis and Sauna
Our two jacuzzis and sauna are the perfect place to let your cares drift away.

Pool area is topless all day, clothing optional after 5 pm, adults only after 7 pm. This policy can be changed to suit your group's needs.
 

Massage Rooms
The massage rooms provide a peaceful sanctuary where you can open yourself to the care of our skilled bodyworkers.

Rainbow Room
The Rainbow Room is 3,200 sq. ft. with a 2,100 sq. ft. suspendedwood floor - great for groups, yoga, dance and tai chi classes.

Blue Moon Room
The new Blue Moon Room offers 6,600 sq. ft. with a 5,000 sq. ft. suspended wood floor. Constructed partially from recycled materials.

Dining Lanai
The casual open-air dining lanai (veranda) offers a view of our grounds while you enjoy our delicious cuisine.

Aloha Cafe
The cafe is open from 7 pm to 10:30 pm (Monday - Saturday). You can enjoy snacks, ice cream (dairy and non-diary), coffee and a variety of teas.

Gift Shop
Our gift shop is stocked with a selection of Hawaiian crafts, clothing, snacks and personal hygiene items.

Tennis and Volleyball
A tennis court is available for your enjoyment. Outdoor volleyball is a fun way to meet other guests and Kalani staff.
