Hono Hu'aka, a beautiful Permaculture, Biodynamic Certified Organic Tropical Plantation, is a short distance but "worlds away" from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Breathe fresh air, drink pure spring water, and be away from the distractions of your daily life.

Hono Hu'aka is a conscious community working with the intention of integrating spiritual principles into everyday life. It's a place to experience and honor nature's beauty and abundant healing properties-an exceptional setting for a retreat and personal transformation.

At Hono Hu'aka there are many ways to nourish your soul. Relax in our solar heated pool and spa with spectacular views of Haleakala and the ocean.

Visit our Sound Kiva with its 40 million year old raja stone floor from India's Ganges River. Or simply find your spot by a stream, waterfall or in our lush organic permaculture gardens.

Hono Hu'aka offers Group and Individual Retreats arranged to meet your needs. We have several accommodation options from a secluded Cliff-side house to poolside Gazebo Suite to a selection of Bamboo Cottages, a Bunkhouse, and tent sites. Please contact our Retreat Coordinator for seasonal and group rates. Retreat facilities include full use of our grounds, pool, spa, sound kiva, Retreat Hall, Commerical Kitchen, and Dining Room.
 
  We can accommodate a maximum of 37 guests, with exclusive use of the property for your group. A minimum of 15 people is required for the Group Retreat Rate. Adjacent spaces, within walking distance, are available for overflow groups.

Our Retreat Hall is 1200 square feet of expansive workshop space (1000 square feet unobstructed with custom designed bamboo interior), which opens up to the valley below and a view of the ocean, enhanced by sliding glass doors and mirrored walls. The hall includes two bathrooms, wash basin, a small refrigerator and snack area with marble service counter, yoga mats, and a CD cassette stereo system.
The Dining Room comfortably seats 36 people and can also serve as a supplemental meeting hall. Adjacent is a fully equipped Commercial Kitchen for your caterer's use. We will be happy to provide you information about highly qualified and experienced caterers who can customize the menu to your group's dietary needs, whether it be raw food, vegan or vegetarian.

An elegant nine-sided structure, the Gazebo sits ground-level poolside with expansive ocean views through its sliding glass doors. Step outside for a refreshing swim in our 60-foot olympic pool, or relax in the warm jacuzzi spa overlooking Waipio Bay.

Ideal for one or two people, in addition to its indoor bathroom, the Gazebo comes with a kitchenette and a very private outdoor shower.

A dramatic and secluded hideaway perched on the bluff overlooking the sea. Ideally suited for the adventurous spirit, the Cliff House is a fantastic bamboo structure that features a wrap-around deck, sitting room, kitchenette and upstairs sleeping loft. The cottage includes a bathhouse with an outdoor shower and composting toilet that never compromises your "million dollar view."

Just a short walk from civilization, the Cliff House is the ultimate in privacy and serenity. It has a robust energy generated by the convergence of three streams into one plunging force and the enduring cadence of the animated sea below.
   
Fulfill your childhood dreams of living in a fantastic Tree House! This magical, romantic getaway features a lower level fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. The upper level, with its ocean view decks, is a two story dwelling with a charming living room and private upstairs bedroom.

These are uniquely designed upscale bamboo structures. Their sliding glass doors open onto private decks that border a lily pond. Each has its own kitchenette. The Ocean and Pond Octagons, with dramatic views of the Ocean or the Heart Pond, are complete with their own full bathrooms. The Stream Octagon has an indoor bathroom, and uses the Pool Shower.

The Haleakala Suite is located on the ground floor of the main house. It's two rooms separated by a large full indoor bathroom, both equipped with kitchenettes and phones make the Haleakala Suite ideal for 2 couples travelling together, or for one to two people who wish to have a sitting room. The views to the garden, ocean and the tip of Haleakala in the distance create an expansive atmosphere.

Guests also have the option of staying in the garden half of the Haleakala Suite only, or the Waipio Suite. This suite, which is the "ocean side" of the Haleakala Suite, would be suitable for one or at most two people.

The essence of Old Hawai'i is beautifully captured in this charming one bedroom cottage. Nestled amongst mature trees and botanical gardens, the Heart Pond Cabin lends itself to tropical relaxation and sanctuary. Unwind to the sound of a fresh water stream trickling into our large heart-shaped pond. Indulge in the cool Maui breeze that gently brings the fragrance of exotic flowers into your enviroment. Shower luxuriously under the stars.

The Heart Pond Cabin is a short walk uphill from the pool and Jacuzzi. Boasting it's own detached bath house, fully equipped kitchen, phone, stereo, king-sized bed and complete privacy, this is the perfect get-away in Paradise.

Ideal for retreat overflow, camping possible after that. 

Book the entire retreat center from $50/day per person plus tax to $62/day per person, $1000 deposit required. Meals are extra and can range from $40- $80 per day per person.
