Spirituality is a very personal thing. Each person has some sense of the spiritual in their lives,
whether they believe in a God, or nature or a Higher Power. Spirituality can be as simple as meditating or praying or as complex
as going to a church, synagogue or religious services. Meditation is an age-old form of
spirituality. It helps you get in touch with God or with the voice within. Meditation not only affects you, but it affects all
those around you. When you meditate and are at peace, you radiate a different energy than when you are stressed and ill at ease.
The more peaceful you become, the easier you can deflect negative forces around you.
When you are at peace, you will attract those who are at peace. Studies have shown that the
serotonin levels of those near a large group of mediators raise the observer’s serotonin levels! This is amazing, the power of
meditation!!!
When we meditate, it makes us stop, be still and listen to our inner voice. It helps us to be at
peace with our selves. It helps to calm us. Most people don't take time to be still. Life is a very hurried place and when we
slow down and meditate, we can look at what is and what is not important at that moment.
Music Therapy is another form of prayer, meditation and healing. Music therapy is an ancient
tradition. Since the dawn of humanity, spiritual healers known as shamans have used drums, bells and rattles to eliminate disease
from the body, depression from the mind and despair from the soul.
Because music can reach past the barriers of our conscience mind to our sub conscience mind, it
might be the key to unlocking parts of ones self. Anais Nin believed that music was "a stimulant of the highest order, far more
potent than wine." Gradually you may find that music will release in you your creative juices, calm your soul or stimulate your
body. Think about how different pieces of music create a mood for your body, mind and soul. |
